MyWay Mobile Storage Joins Former Pittsburgh Steelers to Support Light of Life Rescue Mission
MyWay Mobile Storage joined sports broadcasters and former Pittsburgh Steelers Tunch Ilkin and Craig Wolfley in supporting the Light of Life Rescue Mission with their annual Tunch & Wolf’s Walk for the Homeless. The fun, family-friendly event began with a walk along the beautiful North Shore trail and ended with delicious food provided by MyWay Mobile Storage and local vendors. This was the largest walk to date, with nearly 900 walkers and 1,000 people in attendance.
Tunch and Wolf announced that the event raised over $109,000, making this the best year yet!
The event benefits Light of Life Rescue Mission’s programs on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Light of Life Rescue Mission provides a home for the homeless, food for the hungry and hope for the hopeless.
Earlier this month, the former Steelers handed out their Locker Room Award to a former Pittsburgh Pirate, Sean Casey. “Every Wednesday he leads a fitness class at the mission,” said Ilkin. This class started from Casey leading a group of men at one of Tunch and Wolf walks and has greatly expanded.
Casey says he learned the ropes about the Mission’s work from Ilkin and Wolfley who have been involved with the Mission’s work for decades. “This charity is one of the, what do you say, not so celebrated charities and it’s people reaching out and it’s not a hand out, it’s a hand up.”
