MyWay Mobile Storage Donates Portable Storage Units to 4th Annual Naptown BarBayq Festival
The 4th annual Naptown (Annapolis) barBAYq Contest & Music Festival, hosted on May 3-4, 2014, by the Parole Rotary Foundation, Inc., was a great success. The festival took place at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville, MD. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Anne Arundel Medical Center Pediatrics Emergency Inpatient Unit and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. Ticket prices were $15 at the door and Kids 13 & Under received free admission. MyWay Mobile Storage was a proud sponsor for the fourth year in a row and donated 4 portable storage units to assist the Naptown barBayq festival staff.
“The MyWay Mobile Storage boxes are fantastically convenient and irreplaceable at our event. We used them in multiple locations for multiple needs,” said Don Chomas, the Naptown barBayq Chairman. “Last year we even used one as our ‘Federal Reserve Bank Office’ – essentially where we did our banking with food vendors.”
Because the festival spans two-days, many items must be left overnight at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. Rather than transporting valuable items back and forth, the MyWay Mobile Storage boxes allowed organizers to confidently store possessions throughout the weekend.
“Supplies and BBQ trophies, merchandise, and many other items must be stored overnight,” said Chomas. “MyWay storage boxes are perfect and even look pretty good just sitting in the middle of things. I would recommend them for a variety of storage needs.”
The Naptown barBayq and its contestants and judges are officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the world’s largest organization of barbecue enthusiasts with more than 14,000 members. An estimated 12,000 people attended the event this year to savor ribs, chicken, pork, brisket and a variety of other food dishes. 63 teams competed this year up from 45 just a year ago; teams competed for over $11,500 in prize money. The “Grand Champion” of the event was 3Eyz BBQ, Lo’-N-Slo’ BBQ was the Reserve Champion and Que and a Half Men won the People’s Choice award.
MyWay Mobile Storage is passionate about being involved in the community and is honored to be a part of events such as the Naptown barBayq. The versatility and convenience of their portable storage solutions allow them to support a variety of events and organizations.
